Join the tour :From Place Stanislas in Bruyères, head for Gerardmer. Right after the level crossing, turn right and after 50meters turn left towards Fiménil. In town, take the road that goes up to the city hall. At the roundabout, continue straight for 500meters to the water tank. Here is the starting point of the hike.
Description of the tour :This hike will appeal to all forest lovers. It crosses various forests: young or ageing, resinous or deciduous trees, dense or sparse. According to the moment of the day or the season, birdsong will join you.
Before starting, enjoy the great view of Champ le Duc and Bruyères. Start on the tarred road named Chemin du Champ François, which also leads to Beauménil. You will see an old and well renovated farm. At the first junction, turn right on Route du Champ François. Soon, you will enter in the forest. Enjoy the birdsong and the tree diversity. At the first junction, turn left in a climb which becomes steeper and steeper. Back on a flat pathway, at the junction of four pathways, continue straight. A small meadow in the middle of the forest attests of an old agricultural activity in this area.
After crossing a young pine tree plantation, let the climbing pathway to the right and continue for 50meters. On your right take the large, grassed pathway where vehicles are prohibited. After some zigzags, you will walk on a nice forest pathway. Admire this nice, wooded plot of tall pines. Soon, turn right on a new pathway where vehicles are prohibited. Arrived on the large forest road, turn left on the pathway that goes down. Soon, some houses will appear and you arrive on a tarred road. It makes you cross a hamlet, from which you can see the heights of Lépanges Sur Vologne away on your left. You are almost at the starting point.
