Route of the Great Rock
88640BARBEY SEROUX

Between conifer plantations, a pile of granite stones emerges at the bend of a path. Taking the shape of a rectangle, it extends over 400 m long, 40 m wide and several meters thick. The weight and size vary from one block to another. Next to the moss that covers some of the stones, a few shrubs set out to attack this mineral river.
Located on the heights of the town of Barbey-Seroux, the field of rocks attracts many visitors and foreign tourists every year who come to discover this wonder of nature. It is true that the existence of such chaos lost between conifer plantations astonishes and fascinates. How can we explain such a concentration of stones in such a small space? As always, it gives rise to many legends where the presence of the Evil One is never far away.
