Peduncle tree
DOCELLES PEDONCULATE OAK
Diameter: 125 cm
Height: 20 m
Estimated age: 200 years
My silhouette, made entirely of large branches, is my originality. Usually, the branches of a large tree are pruned because they are considered to be a nuisance to the neighborhood. Here, my particular position on a communal land of Docelles, formerly not urbanized, probably explains the fact that I was able to keep all my woody framework. Today all the land below has been urbanized and the commune of Docelles has built a crèche next to me. But, doubtless respectful of old plant monuments like me, it carefully spared me. Since then, I have carefully watched over all these little human shoots that frequent this lively and friendly place, and I also participate in the landscape quality of the site. I owe that to my protective community. And then, over time, I have become a symbol, that of longevity. May this bond, which unites me to you humans, be transmitted sustainably to your children.
