To begin, I present to you Mount Avison, which is a high point of the route.
Situated at an altitude of 593 metres, Mount Avison was occupied during the Gallo-Roman period, more precisely at the end of the XNUMXrd and XNUMXth centuries.
Today, the summit of Avison is topped by a watchtower, called the "Tour de l'Avison", which is fifteen metres high. Built in 1900, it was partially destroyed during the bombings of October 1944, then restored in 1957 under the municipality of René Drahon.
From this tower, a 360° panorama is available to you and you can clearly admire the entire town of Bruyères and its surroundings.
The Avison is an important landmark for the Vologne Valley, you will come across it several times throughout your walk. Keep your eyes open!
